Welcome to the homepage of Alexander Vincent. I've collated a few items on these pages about me and my achievements over the past few years and I hope you'll find them interesting.
A little quick information on me... I'm 24 years old, I graduated in July 2000 from The University Of Warwick with a B.Eng. Hons in Mechanical Engineering. My 3rd year project title was 'A Matlab GUI for the Orthogonal Decomposition of Spatio-temporal Data', you can read more on this project here, although to be fair its not the sort of thing you'd read for fun! My 'claims to fame' include the founding of several 'Internet Gaming Leagues' called the UKTFCL (founded in August 1999) and the ECSL (founded in January 2001) both of these leagues are based around add-on games to one of the most popular online game ever, Half-Life. I have run these leagues and pushed them forward ever since the early days of Internet gaming and at this moment in time over 6000 matches have been played! These projects have been a fantastic experience for me, both in terms of the technologies I have learnt in the implementation of the websites and the many great friends I now have through this. You may have been wondering about the 'story' behind my now widely recognised trademark of Far2Cool, many years ago I was on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and had to choose a nickname... I decided to choose something typically whacky and now it looks like I'm stuck with it! Oh and the current pride in my life, and the result of a lot of hard work is my new car! |
